Hi! I just bought this backpack after researching camera backpacks for hiking. Does anyone have any experience using one. I loved the concept of moving the belt pack to the front, instead of removing your backpack each time you wanted to take a picture. Its basically for hiking and not carting your gear around.

Sounds just like the Lowepro Flipside backpacks, they have done that for several years.

The belt pack is quite large. I used to backpack with a large daypack in front, but this belt pack is really big and without trying it I would imagine it would inhibit motion. I wouldn't want it banging against my thighs.

The Lowepro flip side uses a belt to hold the pack; you release the shoulder straps and rotate it around to access the contents of the pack.

All interesting ideas but these days I just pull off the back pack when I need to.

Clever, but pricey.
