Here's another shot of Park Avenue, Arches National Park, Utah.
I cropped the original slightly to move the opening between the two rock formations somewhat off center. Should I strive to get that opening more into the rule of thirds, or what?
I also added a little more contrast and that seemed to brighten up the photo.
In the download you should be able to see a couple of hikers in low center.
Oh yeah, camera is Sony A6000 using 16-50mm kit lens. I was having a hard time seeing clearly so it was prolly in P mode.
Slam it...

It looks wonderful. What an area!
Why would 'P mode' prevent you from seeing clearly?

I must have said that wrong. Because I wasn't seeing clearly I just put the camera in P mode and let it do it's thing instead of playing around in M, S, or A.

Ah, of course - I understand, now.
GREAT pix - post more?
Beautiful! The angle of the rocks on the right draw our eye into the distance. One suggestion is to include foreground, assuming there's anything interesting.
Landscapes with foreground, middle and distant views are usually more effective. And seeing close foreground makes it easier for us to feel we were right there with you!

Thanks, Linda. Here's the original before cropping. I was trying to get rid of some shadow and move the vanishing point a little. Maybe a mistake?

Much better without the tree, but I would still like to see more shadow detail.

Agreed. Dunno if I can draw out any detail but I'll see. Thanks for comments.

I appreciate that. I'll stick some over in the Photo Gallery section.

OK, so now I'm just trying to bleed you dry of information...
I cropped it again to get rid of more shadow. Helped or not?
