Took this a couple years ago while my daughter was playing at the backyard. We had a wooden playground and she was playing with one of our dogs, getting him to chase her. At one time she stepped through the wooden arches and I snapped this one. Did some basic PP with a bit of desaturation.

I liked her smile and candid pose.
Thanks for looking!
Welcome and may she never lose that childlike wonder!
Was split toning your intention, and have you tried black and white? S-
Never has any intention really! I just started playing with it and finally settled on that look. Cant remember if I tried B/W, quite possibly did but went for this other look.

I've been looking at split toning recently and will say that the only 'problem' I might see is that there is so little color it almost takes away from the image you present which is why I questioned black and white. Sepia maybe too, but either way, it's a wall hanger and one she'll be proud of for years to come! Thank you for sharing, S-

The expression is what makes a photo. In my experience a candid shot brings that out more than any posed picture ever does.
A very nice well taken family album snap of a pretty little and the apple of her fathers eye.
The large chunk of white in the background stops it being more than that.
Very beautiful little girl and you are a lucky man.
Take your time and take a recent shot not a quick snap. She looks as if she will be a stunner when grown up

The image is predominantly in the mid-tone range so split toning probably wouldn't do much to this image. It would enable you to target the bright patches in the background, but they need darkening more than they need colour, so a selection is what's really needed.

The right side could be cropped to the left side of the little white triangle along the bottom of the photograph.
The hand is very important to the piece. However, it could come down a little in brightness. Maybe?
It might be helpful to lighten and give a little more contrast to her face but not a lot. It shouldn't be noticeable that you have dome so.
The left post could be gradually darkened downward to the bottom of the piece.
My three cents for what it's worth.
(Edit: After looking again maybe the face is just fine the way it is - but I would still take it up a bit and them compare.)
Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys! I have a B/W series of her that I did more recently. Perhaps I will post them in another thread later.
