Just wondering about David Busch or Darrel Young's photography books on the D7200. Have looked at David Busch's rendition but understand Darrel Young's is not out yet. Generally though is there much difference between these two authors with respect to content, etc on the books they have written? Who would you prefer? Thanks for any input.
I have had two books of David Busch and his detail in the books is second to none, I would highly recommend him.
I've had three cameras and three books on these camera by Busch. He puts the manual to sham. He explains in detail and in pictures what he is taking about. The books are indexed and are very easy to find what you are looking for and to understand what he is explaining.
By the way you are allowed to get both authors :-D :-D

David Busch's books have many advocates, but I personally like Darrel Young's writing style better. Both are likely to cover the same ground in excellent detail. You can probably download a sample or at the very least read a page or two of each on the Amazon website. Taking a look will be worth your time.
You can't go wrong with either one. Flip a coin.

I've just posted this:
I heartily second the idea of a book. I upgraded from D200 to D7100 in March &, after 40+ years of having cameras, bought my first guide book. I learned so much that I recommend Darrel Young's book 'Mastering the Nikon D7100' (
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mastering-Nikon-D7100-Darrell-Young/dp/193753832X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=U... ). The instruction book told me how to use the menus - Young told me why!
A friend has the Dummies book for D3300 & doesn't like it - he says it is forever cross-referring backwards & forwards rather than being a striaghtforward narrative.
David D. Busch's books, in my opinion, are top notch ! The writing, the explanations, the illustrations ... GO WITH BUSCH !

I have been very satisfied with the Busch books for my D7000, D610, abd A6000. Maybe for the next body I will look at a Darrel Young book.

Young's is out. I use Darrell Young's work, but have also used Busch. They are both excellent. I buy Young's only because I'm in the habit.

If you've read one David Busch book, you have read them all.
He will lift whole paragraphs from one and place them in the next, only modifying them slightly with information unique to the camera he is discussing. A lazy way to write.
As an owner of 6 different Busch books, it's OBVIOUS I use his products. But he DOES repeat the same format and even information over and over again. For what it's worth, I wish he would write a NEW book for each camera... not just repeat some of his content ad nauseam.

Have them for my D7000, and now for my new D7200.
Great books and camera.

Yes, and although I liked his book I found several mistakes from his cut and paste approach. He thanked me for pointing them out. So my only caution is if he says something that seems to conflict with the hardware in front of you or the manual be sure to question it.
I don't know about the Nikon Book, but I found Bushch's book on the Sony A77 to be near worthless. There is a lot of detail, but it's difficult to find anything when you need it and he doesn't put things "together". I did find a great book by Gary Friedman, but he's Sony Only.

Surprised that no-one has yet mentioned Thom Hogan (supporting the Nikon F-mount on the internet since 1994), an absolute treasure trove of knowledge when it comes to Nikon and long-celebrated for his camera guides - and yes, his D7200 is available .......
