If you read the article, the claim is that he wants to be able to return to this country with dignity. Apparently the cost of dignity this week is $15 million.

Good, Both the school's administration and the police said that there was more to that story than they were allowed to tell because of his being a minor.... But now that there is a law suit involved, the entire story can become a part of the public record.... From what I have heard he does not deserve 1 penny, and should the story be fully told that it will just be another embarrassment for our president and those who offered jobs and scholarships... But that is just one side of the story, it will be nice for the school and police records to come out so we can finally get to the bottom of this.

Ahmed has suffered severe psychological trauma during his involuntarily separation from his grandmother and extended family, the letter says.
He wasn't forced to go to school in Qatar, was he?
