Hi everyone! My name is Kelly and I am so glad to have found this site! I have always enjoyed photography but just recently decided to challenge myself to become better at it. To make a long story longer, lol, the first challenge I made for myself was to learn portraits. I'm not going to lie, I'm in WAY over my head. Armed with my point and shoot Casio Exilim I volunteered to help the activities director at the local nursing home. Well, she wants portraits and I need help! I have tried every setting I can think of to make these close-ups not look like a horror picture! Every line, wrinkle, age spot and flaw shows up 10x worse then it actually is. The best I have done is in monochrome and it is awful to say the least! They are wonderful old folks and I want to capture their personality, not make a mockery out of them!
Due to privacy issues I can't post the pictures but I would love some insight into how I can capture their beauty and not their flaws! Thanks in advance for the help! Kelly
