The first one as shot and the second with added clouds to give it a realistic feel and depth.

I'm probably going to get outvoted...but I like the first one better. Looks more natural to me! Great work!
You did an excellent job masking the bird before you added the clouds. I've looked closely about the edges and saw no "haloing" or overly sharpened borders. This is very well done.
And for me, I prefer the clouds.
Prefer the first one too.
I favor the clouds. I think they give the shot a very natural appearance and provide a better background for the bird.
With clouds. Good job on the composite image.
A sky needs clouds full stop. Neatly done fella
With the clouds. And it's very nicely done.
With clouds. It gives it a depth the first one lacks.

Yep, no doubt, clouds are the better of the two!
Nice.
I like the clouds but the contrast in the first one seems better.
I read "added clouds" and cringed...'til I saw the image. You did a great job! So glad you didn't produce something where the clouds overpowered the subject.
As for which looks better or more natural, I live in an area with many days of vivid, clear blue skies, so I like them both :)
The second one... what program did you use for the clouds?

I too am in the minority. I prefer the cloudless version. I do not think this is about realism because you have cloudless days such as when you took the picture as well as days with clouds. While the masking is excellent, I find the clouds distracting and the lower saturation of the blue dulls the picture. (This can be adjusted.) I like the punch of the original and the greater "detail" of the breast feathers. This is simply a matter of taste.
Thanks for posting.

#2! Nice shot and the addition of the new sky looks natural.
