I have been looking at a cpl 58mm premium polarised for my Fuji. Are any hogs familiar with the Yashica brand. It is 75 euros here in Tenrife, I want o know if this is overpriced. I have looked on the internet but cannot trace this particular brand and product. I can only find cameras and lenses, no prices, no lenses. Thank you

IF there is no track record, no information, i'd pass.

Why not stick to a tried and true brand like B&W?

I take it you are buying this for the XF 14mm f2.8 R?

I'm no pro but doesn't a CPL filter cause weird effects on a wide lens like that? (uneven sky etc)

Hi Linda - you're probably better off staying in Tenerife for a while - temp here has just dipped somewhat.

Regarding CPL filter you may be "safer" with a Hoya Pro-1 Digital CPL from Amazon UK ...... see here .....

Bob - the 18-55 shares same filter thread/hood with the 14. Methinks Linda has the 18-55, but am by no means certain ! Hope you're well.

Thanks Geoff

I already had the Hoya in mind, it's for the 50-230 lens, you know what it's like when you come to these places they drag you in the shop and it becomes very difficult to come back out empty handed. The weather is great by the way. returning to good old Blighty in a few days brrrr.

I will take the filter back to the shop tomorrow, it's far too expensive and I would rather have a make I am familiar with

Thank you all once again

You're correct in statement that the CPL on wide angle lenses does cause uneven darkening of the sky.
