We left Capitol Reef and our next stop was going to be Bryce Canyon. As all of you know--there gets to be many small stops in between!
as we had to go through a 9600 foot pass we ran into snow
after reaching a lower elevation again it got nice out. If any of you are ever traveling on hiway 12 stop in at the Calf Creek Falls area. We didn't do the hike this time, it is a 5 mile round trip, to a beautiful falls. We had been there 4 years ago and saw it then, but the whole area is lovely
this canyon with the yellow trees way below along the river was interesting
i am kind of a rock nut and love all the colors of rocks you see along the way
when we arrived in Bryce it was snowing again
the snow kept us from hiking as the trails were slippery, but we still found plenty of photo opps
the snow gave everything a whole different look, plus we kind of had the place to ourselves--loved that
as the afternoon grew close to sunset time the snow did begin to let up
it turned into a gorgeous evening
we got up early to go to sunrise point for the sunrise. It was 20 degrees and windy, but worth it!
the hoodoos glowing with the sunrise
Beautiful, beautiful series! I very much enjoyed the journey; thanks for taking us along!
Its been quite a while since I was in Bryce Canyon Park. Nice to see its still as beautiful as ever. I drove hwy 12 (parts of it anyway) up through Montana. Spectular driv, even from the driver's seat of a semi truck. Several places to pull over, set up tripod, and get pictures of the moon in full phase. Thanks ever so much for reminding me that its all still there, whenever I can get out there the next time. My health problems may be getting to be less and I need something to push me forward. Again, these shots are fantastic and much appreciated.
It is a pleasure to "travel" with you. Thoroughly enjoy your comments and photo variety.

Love your Bryce Canyon pictures! We visited there in July and took a ton of pictures; however, none nearly as good as yours. Thanks for sharing.
By the way, did you find out the proper pronunciation of the word "Hoodoo"?

I bet there were a lot more people there in July--and was it hot? We kind of had the place to ourselves, which was nice. is it not pronounced like who do?
