Missed shots

My wife is hous sitting for our daughter and son in law. I took my camera and tri pod out to their house last night, as they live at the far end of the city...where there are lots of photo ops...no city lights at night and lots of plants during the day to shoot.
She just called me and told me of all these humming birds outside...and then she tells me about two of them mating...and then about another coming along and "fighting" over the female....I am going nuts!
I said "You're missing it!!" She says, no...she's watching everything! LOL.
I finally talk her into going in and getting my camera and had to talk her through turning it on...taking off the lens cover.... you get the picture. (no pun)
So.... I HOPE she got SOMETHING!!
To be safe, I had her shoot Aperture Priority...and then video a bit.
Keeping my fingers crossed. I can't wait to get out there!
That was worse than putting her freshly baked apple pie in front of me...when I'm on a diet!

Hi, What are you going to do jpy if she decides she really likes taking pictures and wants a camera of her own just like yours? You may be creating a monster. Have fun and keep shootin'. Mike

My wife is hous sitting for our daughter and son i... (show quote)

Ok...the update. I hope I don't lose my camera to her!
She called me, SO excited...she got them on video...what a little scared to take stills. I told her at the time..."Don't worry... you won't mess anything up" But, the video is actually cool...she got a few of them playing..or courting..not sure.
I think that, for the time being, I am safe with my camera. She'll stay with her artwork, which is what she does best.
I bought a hummingbird feeder for them this weekend and got a few nice shots of them feeding....also, found the nest (TINY) and got the female just sitting there....how often do we get Hummingbirds just sitting still?
Have a good week, everyone!

Here she is sitting in her nest.
The focus looks a little soft, I thing.
I've found that I don't get the sharp focus when I use the 2X tele convertor.
The put this in perspective...the nest was about the size of a half an egg.
I have a few more of the birds at the feeder, but I'll have to crop, first.

Don.....My wife can be dangerous!
If we have some fruit laying around, she'll put together a pie so fast!
To some people, it's work....for her...no problem.
When she hears someone say what their favorite pie is....She'll just bake one and give it to them!

Here's a few.
As mentioned before....the focus is a little soft.
I use the 2X convertor to help get the shots but seem to give up a little quality.
I guess it's a trade odd. otherwise I might not get the shots.
I guess this will have to do until I can spring for a new lens.
We're saving our pennies for that.
