Extreme harsh lighting experiment

This morning as I went into the kitchen I was blinded by the reflection from the red toaster. The lighiting was intense to say the least. It was an extreme harsh lighting experiment opportunity for me. HDR was my only choice to capture the extreme reflection and the much darker parts in my view. This is the result. Please download it for bed viewing results!

Interesting! Experiments such as this that push the boundaries and are challenging are a great way to learn how to deal with difficult lighting, and more accurately recreate what we saw (or at least how we remember it).

You got that right rook2c4 about pushing the boundaries and for sure very challenging. It is a learning experience all the way. I don't think my image is accurate as the way I remember it. I do remember a very bright glare in my face. For me, that is not important to get it how I remember it just as long as I get an image that I like. I know this image is not an award winner by any means, but it was fun working with it to get it in this state.
Thanks for your "interesting" comment.

I'm not sure what "lesson" you are referring to. I would hope it was that you should always try to please yourself and not try to get the photograph like what you saw with your eyes. Perhaps the two would be the same!?!?! I could be!
