Just wanted to share this with my friends here on UHH.
I posted earlier today in the Main Photography Discussion (I Got Published).
I just wanted to let everyone know that my wife is the one that spotted the Black Crowned Night Heron that won a first place in the contest at Auburn University. She was so happy about it, she told everyone. When I found out about the calendar the first thing I thought about was my wife and how proud she was about the bird.
Well, she didn't get to see the calendar, because she passed away 9 weeks ago from cancer. She wanted so much to live but the cancer just kept eating her away until it won after a two year battle.
Her ultimate goal in life was to make people happy, smile and laugh. She even sang to the ambulance guys as they were rolling her down the hall on her last trip to the hospital. That's just the way she was no matter how bad she felt she wanted everyone else to be happy.
We didn't get to go on many trips after that picture was taken but I took her whenever she felt like she could make it. She loved the outdoors just as much as I do.
I feel for anyone that has or is going through this horrible disease because I know what it's like.
Sorry about the long story but I just wanted to share this.
My Beautiful Wife Wan. Her real name was SaNgad but everyone knew her as Wan. You see in her home language which is Thai, Wan means sweet, so that's why everyone knew her as Wan.

It was not a long story and I'm sooo sorry and my condolences to you. Only time will heal those wounds, but I hope she is in a beautiful place now. I did lost my wife the same way, her fight lasted 3 years, but finally the cancer got the better of her. I hope you will find at least some comfort in remembering all those beautiful times you had together!

Thank you speters. Sorry you had to go through that. There were so many people at the cancer center every time we went that it was hard to fathom.
My prayers and sympathy. Your story tells of a blessed life together. I'm sure that you have many wonderful memories that will carry you in the days and weeks ahead.

Thank you Frank. I don't have anything but good memories of her because we never got into an argument. That's what's so amazing about her, she even kept me in check when the redneck came out in me with other people.

As I write I'm praying The Living God will give you the grace to focus on the love and life the two of you shared. She didn't allow cancer to steal her joy, don't allow it to steal yours either.
