Welcome to Day 105 :) It's Story Telling Saturday !
I went to the Desert Museum to see the Raptor's free flight show. Today is the last day of the season for this show.
Unfortunately so did a lot of other people... and as a result they kept standing in front of the camera LOL .. These are the only ones that turned out.
Snowy egret finds trouble
Hmmmm
Spiked it!
Oh Noooo!
Hey!
Get offa me!
Whew!
Ok, I'm cool.
Friday morning I got up before dawn and drove up to Vista Point just east of Portland on the old Columbia River Highway. It overlooks the entrance to the Columbia River Gorge. The wind is always blowing hard up here so have a good tripod if you come or if you're like me and forget it at home, make something to set your camera on like a bean bag (or you can rummage around the trunk and use a bag of curtains destined for goodwill..lol)
The forecast said fair with a few clouds so I was hoping for a good sunrise. I got far more than I had dreamed of. Anyway, first pictures are taken from Vista Point, then I drove west a few miles to Chanticleer Lookout and shot back towards Vista Point and up river. The Gorge is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, particularly at sunrise. Hope you like them :)
The promise of something spectacular
I lightened this one up so you can see the relationship of the river, I-84 hwy and the ponds I posted yesterday
This is of Vista Point where the images above were taken from
Last one taken from Chanticleer Lookout. A hawk graced this picture at the perfect time. How lucky can I get!
