Wow! A blast from the past! We used to do this back in the '80s to put slides onto video tape!
Depending on the projector, and its lens, you may find the central area of your copy to be overexposed. To prevent this we used to put a small circle of black paper in the center of the projector lens, maybe about dime-size, or a little smaller.
Pretty interesting, dirtpusher, I didn't think this topic would ever come up again!

it caught my eye. an remembered someone about a week ago asking about this.
i'd think it would be trial an error postioning everything an adjusting getting started.
