Yep, we all started from scratch and learned mostly from asking question here at the AF on UHH.

$cratch...This stuff is expensive.
I'm looking @ an asi120m L&P on CN clasifieds, used but, still a good bargain for $120. I've also considered the Orion SSAG which ever I can get for the price range Alanna will flip the bill and yet I still need a guidescope?

I don't know anything about these, but I think Jim (Albaqshutterbug), and Matthew (Okanoder) have these in their repertoire.
It sounds like it is aimed (no pun intended) at Planetary, Sun, and Moon use.
But the wide range it can take exposure's in I would think it could drag down some Nebulae. (Out at 1000s...?)
My only reservation is it isn't cooled, other than the housing. Which maybe is enough in itself.
I'm considering the Orion magnificient mini bundle if I can find one on the classifieds at a price that my CNA will accept.I just enjoy myself with what I have, you know I'll be{ net} shopping after xmas for that deal and maybe someone gets an upgraded guiding system and I can jump on there older system before someone else does. eh ! That would be so cool .
