An amazing place, steam jets, bubbling mud, boiling hot springs and the smell of sulphur in the air.

Great shapes and detail. Are the yellow parts sulphur?

Looks like an amazing place, kind of like Yellowstone with the same mix of beauty, weirdness and photographic challenges. It is well-captured and a perfectly fine picture as is, but with your prodigious PP skills and talents, I bet there is a lot more you can do with it and/or others from this area to bring out its magic and strangeness - far more than I've ever been able to get out of my sulphuric Yellowstone shots.

Lots of detail here that looks really good in download. I love the colors as well. The yellows contrast nicely with the greys.

Another masterful display of just getting enough in the frame without trying to overpower with the grandeur of it all. Technically quite perfect.

Peter, a superb job at what I personally found the most challenging regions to photograph in New Zealand. Your crop is perfect and your colour rendition is spot on.
Gives me a reason to go back to my Rotorua photographs and implement some of your structural ideas.

Thanks minniev. I am still working on my New Zealand pics and to get the best out of the hots springs is a real challenge, its such a weird environment. But I love it, even got used to the sulphur.

You are absolutely right it is difficult to take pics there, there is so much going on and its all beautiful and almost overpowering. But I have left a lot of the pics for quite a few months and have gone back to them and its amazing how different your eye is when you see the pics as pics rather than as memories. I look forward to seeing some of your stuff from NZ, OZ is home but NZ is a pretty good place to have on your doorstep.
