Oh, no! The sky is falling! The sky is falling! Where do these idiots come from? Must be the same one who Poo - pooed. Win 10 when it first came out. I have loaded 10 on several computers since it first came out and it appears to be the best OS that Microsoft has come out with to date. So far, I have loaded the new update on two machines (one being an Acer laptop) and no problems. It is a bit leaner and meaner.

It's been going good for you hope it continues. All updates do not go smoothly on every machine because of different software/hardware that can and does cause problems on certain machines.

Just three more little reasons (for me) NOT to upgrade until they force me too.

You are not forced to do anything. I still run XP on my business laptop with no intention to upgrade. It is just that there go those experts again spewing stuff that they have no idea what they are talking about. Sure, there is going to be a glitch or two when loading a new OS on a particular machine. Happens all the time across the world. But statistically, this is nil. It is a shame that these are the kind of reports that get the press. There is nothing wrong with Windows 10 nor the upgrade.

That's what I wanted to do, but I ended up having to get windows 8, because a lot of the programs and sites I use, were no longer compatible with 7. So I upgraded and as it turned out, 8 was fine (although I lost some programs/sites, that are now not compatible with 8, even running the compatibility settings, they just didn't work right anymore.) Eventually, they always win and they will force everyone to upgrade because they will stop offering windows 7 and 8.

The esoteric software that was installed originally Is super hard to convert to newer Os's. In addition, we would have to upgrade all of the hardware inside of our laptops, which would make no sense at all since we have over 50,000 still in use. Also, the propriety Programming that is installed on these XP units runs fine on on them, so why waste money if they are doing the job?

Oh, but yes, we are in the process of upgrading to 10; this includes our programming. We should have done this when 7 came out, but this was not my decision to make. It tried fooling with 8.1, but realized it was not adequate. Windows 10 appears to be. This is going to cost several million dollars when we do convert.

Nothing wrong if you trust Microsoft not to hijack your data.

It is not hijacking my data. They could not afford to.

For those of you who seem to hate Windows and Microsoft, why do you not change to Apple or one of the several other operating systems?
