Wonderful composition Peter. Having never been there I would not know how vivid the color was but this seems ever so slightly over blued in the back ground and yellowed the foreground, middle ground seems goodÂ…... if that makes sense. Not saying I do not like it, I do.

For me, the interest is the top half of the shot: the jagged lines and colors, and so inhospitable. Nicely captured!

Interesting wrinkles, Peter. The layering really pulls the eye through the composition. I really like the transition from warm yellow foreground to the blue mountains in the distance - a phenomenon of looking through miles of air, and perfectly natural. Very nice geological details maintain interest. Great shot.

I have been spouting on lately about how its impossible to capture natures magnificence on a sensor. You have managed it with incredibly clever composition. Not trying to show miles of vista but just concentrating on a chunk big enough to show the magnitude of it.
Masterful work my friend and incredibly well processed.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I was very happy with the composition of this one and it feels good that others liked the composition too. Also I'm glad I was able to convince Billy, on this occasion at least, that landscapes can work. But the problem is that generally I tend to agree with him. Its is relatively easy to produce a 'nice' landscape but the ability to produce a landscape conveying the the power, impact and sheer scale that you experience when you are in it is a rare gift, one which I certainly don't have, and one which I believe, very few have. But occasionally it comes out ok, and probably that's about all we can hope for.

The background seems very blue to me. I'm wondering if there is a strange wb thing going on here. The foreground seems just right color wise. Very interesting landscape. Like that it is very sharp front to back.
