Halfway Haiga

Dave has been trying so hard lately to get us to expand our horizons. It thought I would try my hand. This is a signpost that marks the exact halfway point of the Appalachian Trail. It was an otherwise mediocre photo that makes sense with a few words added.

I may be a little obtuse about this haiga thing but can see the usefulness of it with your picture.
Without the well chosen words one would be left scratching ones head. That's scalp in my case!

I was reading about Dave's Haiga suggestions in a previous post. Then I thought I would look through some photos I have of backpacking trips. I did not even develop this photo the first time around because it has bright light on one side and deep shadow on the other. Then, right smack in the middle is a post. Composition wise, the image is a disaster. I agree with you that, without the text, this is a nothing image.

And therefore, the added haiku can, by rights, be considered a form of pp?
Yeah...I can deal with that!
Way t'go; I like it.

If this haiga gains circulation, the haiku is sure to become bone of contention.
Folks from Maine will claim the photographer had to be heading South, and Georgians will claim he had to be heading North!

One cool haiga!

Dave

Yes, I deliberately did not indicate where "somewhere" is. Leaves it up to the viewer. Although having been at the Southern Terminus and the northern terminus, Kahtadin in Maine is very much more in the middle of nowhere. (shhhhh, don't tell anyone I said that)lol
