I use a Canon Pro 100 for printing. I want to print a 11x14 photo using LR but the list of paper sizes in LR doesn't include this size. What do I need to do to set up a printer preset to allow for 11x14 size or any other size not listed in the LR page setup.

I am not sure...but on my printer (which is a cheapie) there is a place (Medea or paper size) where I can check or "UN CHECK"...."FILL PAGE OR IT MAY SAY...FILL PAPER".

As far as a LR preset go's...I am lost there!

I send all my work out to MPIX or Adorama Pics.

I'll walk you through this after I boot up my PC when I get to work this morning. Someone else might beat me to the answer though, but rest assured, I believe that you can print on any size you want in Lightroom.

Select the print mode at the top right and in the lower left corner there is a page setup. Click on it and you can change the paper size. I know that 13 x 19 requires the rear tray not sure about 11 x 14.

The sizes are fixed to certain dimensions and I don't see how to change or add a different size.

In troubleshooting issues, it helps to know what kind of computer you have: a PC or a MAC, as with Lightroom some of the menu's vary between the types of computers it is written for.

Do you have the latest Canon Pro 100 printer driver for your operating system?

The next thing to check is how you are setting up the print job in Lightroom and you need to make sure that you start in the bottom left panel of the print module where is says:

[Page Setup ...] and [Print Settings...]

You set the paper size in Page Setup menu where it has Paper ---the third selection down from the top. 11 x 14 should be listed there as it is a standard paper size.

All of the info that is listed in these menu's on bottom left of the panel are provided by your printer maker in the driver software they provide for that particular model printer and not by Lightroom.

Page setup > properties > printer paper size > custom > you will get a custom paper size window where you can set your custom size. The boxes are labelled width and height. You can set them as needed.

RedRiver just solved this same problem for me. Tell LR the paper is 11x17 and put a 3.00" border on the bottom.

DID YOU EVER SOLVE THIS?

Some feedback to those who have attempted to help the poster would be greatly appreciated.

Not really. I understand that I can use a 11x17 and cut it down but I have 11x14 paper so that doesn't help. Custom doesn't seem to work either. I think I will need to use the printing option in ON1 10 to do the printing to the appropriate size.

The 11x17 option with the 3" white border uses 11x14 paper. The printer stops printing at 14 inches and spits it out.

The printer driver method using custom size works too. I just tried it. There are a few more steps than in the abbreviated explanation above, but it does work!

I belive that if you had followed all of the steps that I listed in my ans. posted up from this one that you could have found the setting for 11 x14 paper in the "Page Setup menu that I listed there.

I have a selection for 11 x 14 there in my version of Lightroom and you should have one too. That is a standard size paper and there is no need to use the custom size setting for it.

I find that cropping to the correct dimension you want fixes some problems
