A British author didn't like the review that a teenage girl posted on her Facebook page about his book.

He should have ignored her review. There's many a movie that was panned by the Critics, but loved by the public and went on to make millions. He's in the wrong business if he can't take criticism/rejection. How many very famous authors were turned down by publishers before the right one came along and saw merit to their writing? Writing is like art. Some people love Picasso and others wouldn't give his works the time of day.
I wonder what kind of rage this fellow displays if he gets cut off on a round-about?

From an old English/writing teacher: The girl writes so well in her critique that I have no doubt she's correct in her analysis of the work. The author should probably consider another profession.

I was thinking the same thing myself, however, I did not want to voice it as I don't know how far this fellow is willing to travel to exact revenge.

In writing and public speaking courses I've been associated with, it never ceased to amaze me how some participants could not accept criticism, even if the entire class was in agreement as to their deficiencies.

Memo to self: Think twice before critiquing anyone's photos on the Hog!

BTW, the first comment after the article was priceless.

Colonel Sanders made 1000 presentations of his Kentuky Fried Chicken recipe before someone actually bought in. Sometimes the critics can be very wrong, even when there are many of them.

The customer, however is usually right.

This guy reminds me of several students I had. They did not disagree with my comments, they just did not like red ink. I met them later in life when I had a shiny badge and they did not. What this guy needs is about three years without all his social media to contemplate his actions. Perhaps the reality of prison could make a real novel.

They just had a discussion about restaurant owners in the U.S.who retaliate against people who give bad reviews of their food or service with legal actions. The problem covers more than literature.
