Nikon 105mm Macro f2.8 D AF FX IF-ED lens + Nikon UV filter.

NOTE: This lens will NOT autofocus on a DX camera!

This lens was made in Japan, not Taiwan. Its mount is metal, not plastic. Its 9 blades yield a beautiful bokeh, making it an excellent portrait lens as well as a micro.

At approximately 12 inches from the target, the image is true 1:1.

This is the D model which transmits focus distance to the camera and flash. This improves auto focus and permits firing a ring flash within inches of the target.

To see micro photos taken with this actual lens, go to

Price: $450

Correction, it WILL autofocus on a DX camera. All of them EXCEPT the intro models, those being the D40, D40X, D60, D3000, D3100, D5000 and D5100. All others will make proper use of the AF mode of this lens. I use this lense and have for over 20 years. Used mine perfectly on D1x, D60, D90 and D7000 with full AF function. Its a great Macro lens.
Sorry Pat, but no sense limiting your buyer base. UHH will let you go back and correct your listing.

If you have a camera body with a focus motor, it will work.

I just a got a good deal on a macro unit, in part because I was told the AF was faulty.
I didn't care, I was going to MF with it, to ensure absolute focus on what I wanted the focus to be on.

And it also has an aperture ring so it can be used on the older bodies in manual and aperture priority modes. I wish I had money!

Thanks for the correction, Shooter. I' m still confused as to how the buyer knows that a given non-FX camera does or does not have the AF function in the body. Can I say simply that it will not AF on those bodies you list, leaving the implication that it will work on all other Nikon DSLR camera?

It looks like your post lists the D60 as a no-no but you say you use the lens perfectly on the D60 in the next sentence.

BTW, sincere thanks for all your contributions to the community!

Sorry, that was a typo and supposed to be D50 that it will AF on. It will also AF perfectly on all the 3 digit Nikons, D100, D200 and D300 DX sensor models.
The key is the "AF-S" designation that indicates the AF motor is in the lens. Thats the only way to tell if a Nikon lens will AF on those introductory level bodies. If the lens does nos say AF-S it will not AF. (Except for the few AF-I lenses as mentioned before, but they are rare).

No bad feelings. I could have sold that lens 10 times the day I posted it. Sold the body immediately too. Obviously way too cheap on both. No takers on the other lens though, and that is the GOOD one! LOL
