The first story has been rebutted by the 2nd link, correcting portions of the video that implied that the girl has been k**led. The girl has been reunited with her family; the family had rejected a marriage offer - BUT, what insanity it has to be for families to solicit marriage offers for an 11-year old girl?

It has not been to long ago that it was legal for a 21 year old man could marry a 13 - 15 year old girl with the girl's parents blessings. One less mouth to feed plus, a son-in-law to help out on the farm. Of course, young girls were a lot more mature in those days both physically and mentally.

I am not saying that I approve just that it is as it was.

I don't know about all of them but you can't really say everybody was OK with Peter Yarrow's case. I've seen a video of Mary Traverse where she said she went out on her own because Paul had become a religious nut and Peter was fooling around with young girls. So he was hardly "untouched".

It's just a guess but it may have to do with life expectancy. Also, how do we arrive at a universally accepted age of consent. Some 16 year olds are much wiser and mature than some 21 year olds.
