I use Elements 12. I cannot figure out how to adjust the photo fit the frame. I also don't know what to do about the white border that's outside the frame. I would appreciate help. Thanks very much.

Edie, how will you be using the photo?
Starting from the outside in, if you're going to use it in a scrapbook or on a card, I'd select the outside edge and make it transparent, so that the colour (or lack thereof) of the background comes through.

From the exif it is not clear if the measurements given there are for the allover picture or just for the photo within. If for the allover, you can't really go much beyond a 13 - 15 inches width.
I like what dannac did with the image, but would crop the dark brown edge a bit to make it the same size on all four sides.

If it shows the photo in an existing frame, you would have to enlarge it quite a bit to fit that frame. What photo editing program do you use?
If existing frame, am I safe to assume that landscape, dog and white background are the print?

I know, more questions than answers, but with the answers to these questions I think that there will be more people able to help you.

Oh, you'll get used to it soon enough. Sometimes it only seems a few months and you see everything that's wrong with your photo. The big problem then becomes how to fix it!

Thanks, everyone, for looking and commenting.

This photo and frame were done in Elements 12.

The frame has scalloped edges.

I cannot get the photo to fit the frame.

How did you do it?

Thanks in advance.

I like your concept of the dog looking back before entering the photo. Very creative. If you adjust the photo to fit the frame the photo will be skewed. Everything in it will be widened. Always adjust the border and frame to fit the photo. The white border is there because of the drop shadow from the frame. I think the scalloped frame is a little much for this photo. A simple border or frame that wouldn't compete with the photo for attention would probably be better.

I don't know how you created the border and frame so I don't know what to tell you about the sizing of the photo.

Thanks for your comments, Yooper 2. I agree that a simpler frame would be better. I appreciate your passing along that idea. In Elements 12, when I click onto "Graphics," an assortment of frames comes up. I click onto a frame, and it loads directly onto the photo. I can change the size of a frame but not the photo.

The problem with adding ready made frames from Graphics is that sometimes they cannot be adjusted to fit the photo correctly.
