Lately my D7100 autofocus has been acting up. After working for a few clicks it stops focusing automatically. Anyone on the forum seen this problem? Corrected it?

What lens?
Have you checked your battery power?
Also, a dirty lens or filter can affect the AF, if the sensor cannot find the contrast it needs to AF the lens, it simply cannot do it.

I had problems with my 35mm Dx lens over the weekend and a 24mm (older), lens yesterday. It seems if I set to single point focus there are no problems. But if I switch to multi-point focusing the problem eventually comes back. Though as I said, the first few clicks seem to work fine, and then no joy.

My D7100 has never exhibited the autofocus issue, however, I almost always shoot with a single focus point so it may just not be showing up. If I change lenses, the camera always defaults to multiple focus points and I may go ahead and take the one shot then change but all focus seems sharp (depending on the lens, as I do have to watch my Tamron 10-24 and correct the focus on it as it has always been a tad soft).

Recharge your battery, remove your lens, clean your electrical contacts with isopropyl alcohol, preferably 91%, instead of 70% which contains more water. Let dry and hold the body with the opening pointed down to keep contaminants from entering the body.
If you have trouble finding the 91%, a pharmacist in some larger drug stores can probably help you there. (The 91% is very flammable, so no smoking or open flames, and use in a well ventilated area)
Hope this helps
Duane

Check your battery...even if it shows fully charged it can be an issue...never had any auto focus problems with my 7100...but if it dont work right check the battery...works for me...
