That is a long time to hold a grudge.

If you were there, I'll thank you for your service and consider your comments.

Vietnam vets were deceived and dishonored by the very folks that send us to RVN. The "war" was created out of a contrived and devious deception by the serving administration who were willing, and in fact did, sacrifice lives of citizens for a political agenda. And now when those of us who served cling to any semblance of honor for our service are told to "forgive and forget" have an especially difficult time to do so. In the deception we were played for fools and over 60,000 young citizens paid the most egregious price. So Jane Fonda is the only visible target we can focus on as the best example of the dishonor and disrespect for our service. She and others need to learn to "deal with it."

Do not forget that a lot of those that served were drafted and still disrespected.

Regardless of how a person entered the military, their service still counts. They are still a veteran. They accepted their fate with as much aplomb as they could. Draftees had choices, yet they accepted their "duty" to serve. They didn't flee to Canada like so many did in that time. Even "MacNamara's 100,000" served shoulder to shoulder with all of us.

I was not clear, even the draftees were spit upon, they had no choice, their country forced them into service, and being good Americans they obliged. It was not their war and and they fought. If anyone should have been spit on it would be the political leaders that started a fight and then threw in the towel. On my recent visit to NAM many of the people i spoke with in both North and South expressed to me that the US pulled out to soon. A retired officer even stated that 2 more days of heavy bombing in Hanoi would have seen surrender.
