No, both 10-20mm Sigmas continue to be available: the cheaper variable aperture version and the more expensive f3.5 version.

Not at Sigma though, it is discontinued there. Some retailers still have them... cheap at around $250. The f3.5 is also a lot less expensive now at $449.00!

While I have the Canon 10-18, at the current prices, I would be choosing between the two Sigma offerings.

Does anyone have hands on experience with Tamron 10 - 24mm and/or Sigma 10 - 20mm Ultra Wide angle lens? Any comparison tests?

I have looked at several reviews and forums and the answers seem very contradictory with some saying Sigma is the sharpest, best and Tamron is soft and others saying the opposite with Tamron being sharpest, best and Sigma being soft.

I appreciate that at this price point the lens will not be perfect but I only want it for shots that I cannot get with my Tamron 18 - 270mm and am not likely to use extensively, so please do not suggest more expensive lens.
Does anyone have hands on experience with Tamron 1... (show quote)

love my sigma 10/20

For any who have not yet chosen a favorite UWA lens - this video testing 8 lens is of interest;

Spoiler;
The Sigma 6 - 16mm is the sharpest but overall rated equal with the Canon 10-18mm and 10=22mm.

Don't mean to highjack this thread but my question DOES have to do with ultra wide angle lenses so might be helpful as well. I was just looking at a TOKINA 11-16MM/2.8 FOR CANON APS-C to rent on Adorama but I shoot Nikon. It came up as an option when I searched for Nikon compatible wide angle lenses. Does anyone know if this lens will work on a Nikon D7100? Thanks!

I haven't read all the replies so this may have been answered already.

The Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 is available for both Canon or Nikon mounts, just have to be careful you order the right one. This lens is exceedingly highly regarded for APS-C sized sensors. I was just fixing to buy one myself but bought a full frame D810 instead, so my next wide angle shopping likely will be to find the full frame equivalent, which also looks to be the Tokina.

They now have a newer 11-20mm f/2.8 but the 11-16 is still available some places. Might get more of a discount also since it has been replaced. The price on either was quite reasonable, especially in light of the very good reviews, including many I have seen of great samples by good photographers.

Thanks, glgracephoto! I won that Tokina lens on eBay and will have it by the 24th. Great price of $332 including shipping from CA to DE. I was out shooting nature yesterday and made note of MANY shots I want to go back to try it on as soon as I get it. Appreciate your input. ~Donna

I hope it's in good shape, and yes one can definitely save a bundle on Ebay if they are wise. Got a nice price. I am sure you will enjoy it.

I was following a few used lenses I was eyeballing also, and hoping I did the right thing paying more to buy new!
