Hey everyone, with 193 members and counting it seems like a good time to give you a voice.

For Your Consideration is an outlier in the Uglyhedgehog Family and is doing well on its own, but there's always more, always more...

So, if you were in charge, how would you define the section and what would you like to see more of?

Everyone has a voice and every voice heard so the floor's open. Let the discussion begin! S-

I'd like to see what folks actually use some of their photos for, i.e. birthday cards, calendars, advertising, posters, promotional pieces, etc. I know WaltChilds used the info from the tutorial I put together and created a composite for a dentist in FL, that they loved.

That would be wonderful, not just a photo, but a photo in use! S-

Not sure why FYC works, but it sure does. I am afraid that if it were defined any better it might lose whatever mysterious magic it has now.

In answer to Mikes question it works as well as it does mainly due to good management and I shall say no more than that.

I think there is a desire and certainly space on the Hog for a learning centre and FYC seems the obvious place to put it.
Many have areas of speciality and expertise they can share.
It does not always have to be long involved tutorials and management may have to approach individuals about contributing.
minnieV is an expert with Macphun Frank has developed this amazing new process that's quite unique Dave how the heck does one write a haiku? Peter aka conkerwood can spot a flaw in a photo at 100 paces with one eye shut, whats his technique for doing this so we can learn to eliminate mistakes by looking at a piece as he does.
We have the absolute king of PP in Don so lets ask if he is willing to pass on some of his immense talent to us mere mortals. What sparks some of the unique images Jim Hill sees and others would miss?
Not much you and I can teach em Bwana. Tree hugging and loud talkings to are well documented.
We have a wealth of talent and resources let find a way to share it

I appreciate that, but always feel like there could be more. Maybe that's the magic of it all. Cheers! S-

There already is more! The good ol' suggestion? "Don't fix what ain't broken" ?

Regret that my own participation limited lately and must cease for awhile in the chaos of having an "evil compouter" just at the time of moving all my "stuff", so will be missing even time to look in for awhile.

Wider participation? I'd really like to see a spread of participant submissions rather than the same folks over and over. I could also wish that images we submit to this forum would show up in the Daily Digest

I've been out of country for a bit so this is like coming home! S-
- And I'll take your suggestion.

Like any dinner party there are those that participate, those that listen and sadly those that do not feel smart enough, educated enough, or whatever enough to join in. So I agree, I'd like to see more participation, but unless we get out the cow prod the question is how.

As for the rest, Admin is waiting until we reach 200 members before we hit the funny pages. Soon, very soon! S-

Possibly none of us had realized this -200 limitation, so we need more invitations, reinforcing our welcome in the main section, perusing the Gallery or other sections such as People for those who may not be especially aware of us and inviting them.

But what would be the average growth rate anyway? The whole forum had just a very few hundred in Sep.'11, when I joined this small group of people interested in all aspects of photography. With that history, this section may be doing quite well. Yes, I do wish for a more varied larger participation also, but it will happen in its own good time?
