I don't get around much anymore, because of that fact , our front porch is where most of my images are taken. I hope I will receive some advice on how to improve my photography skills. Don't be afraid to be honest, I can take it.
Our neighbor's front yard
A strange insect on our bird feeder
This hopper seems to be singing to me.
Love it! specially the hopper!

Photos two and three are very nice. Photo one lacks a focal point. If the object in the center is what you want your eye to be drawn to try cropping photo. Remove the gate and road at the bottom of the photo, use the stone wall to frame the photo, bring the remaining three sides in and see what you come up with. The photo has good focus and color needs a little tweeking. Nice job. Keep posting your photos.
Thanks for commenting on my images, this seems to be a very friendly site for for photographers.
Hi Sharon, Thanks for your comments on my photos. I agree with you 100% on image 3, it wasn't the image I wanted to post, so I have a better one , hope you like it. from sweet-abaca
If I'm correct...strange bug is a "stink bug" don't step on it...you will be sorry.
Photo #2 everone is correct the common name is "Stink Bug" there found in woods and grassy spots and if ever pick one off your clothing or a pet you will know how got the name.It is a defence smell and they deploy it very well.Hard to wash off and get rid of smell.

Yep, it's a Stink Bug. My brother had one fly into his mouth when he was a kid. He's in his 60's but remembers it very well. Very sharp image, by the way. That has got to be one of the strangest looking grasshoppers I've ever seen.
By the way: if a cat ever gets hold of a stink bug & bites down on it (as cats will do) they will show the same symptoms as Rabies. Running, salivating & foaming at the mouth.I thought I was going to have to make an emergency vet visit untill I got hold of her and noticed the smell. No real harm was done but it scared me half to death.
