As a graphic designer by day, and photographer by night, I'd be happy to help with a custom logo/watermark. Send me a pm if you're interested.

I created a logo in Photoshop, deleted the background and
Saved it as a TIF file selecting preserve transparency. Then you can overlay, position and scale the logo on a new layer along with whatever opacity you choose before you flatten the image.

I use Photoshop Elements as a post production. I create my own "watermark" then save as a PNG file. I have done up several of them and when needed I pull the one I want to use and open it along with the picture I want watermarked and pull the watermark over to the picture. Using layers, I size then adjust with opacity and safe the finished product as a JPG file.

If you put your watermarks in brushes you do not have to make a layer or anything. Just grab it from brushes and put it on the image.

Thank you for the responses to my earlier que, but I still haven't found a free program to make a watermark signature to my photos. I am using Windows 8.1 (tried 10 but it was too sluggish with my Intel i5 and 8 mb). The thoughtful suggested sites weren't up to date with 8.1. When I get back to San Francisco I plan to get a disk version of Lightroom which should do the trick, but until next year I'd love to find a shareware watermark program.

Photo Scape, free and very functional. I have it and use it often.

I haven't read all answers. Someone may have already suggested Picture Shark. It marks as many pix as you want at one time. Easy to use if it still exists.

Thanks Horseart. I had trouble with Picture Shark. It wouldn't put the watermak I created in Excel on my sample photo. I emailed the so called webmaster but never heard back.

Hey ...appreciate the input jimmya. I already loaded uMark yesterday and it's great, but I'm curious to take a peek at Photo Scape. Thank you.

Lightroom isn't a layer-based editor so I doubt it. If you want to go cheap, get Corel Paintshop Pro X7 which is a Photoshop clone for about $59. Put your photo on the base layer, scan your signature and put it on a second layer on top of the photo layer, set the color and opacity of your signature the way you like it, flatten or merge the two layers, and it's done.
