Bali - Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park

Went to see an ongoing building of GWK statue project (Wisnu rides Garuda) which was initialized with the ground breaking ceremony on August 23, 2013 and expected to be completely finished in 2017.

They have finished making the head and half body of Wisnu and the head part of Garuda (eagle) including a huge pedestal next to the finished statues.

The statue is being built on a 60 hectares of land located in Uluwatu, Bali. Height of the statue after completion will be approximately 75 meters by 64 meters width standing on a 60 meters height of pedestal...

Total height above sea level will be approximately 276 meters!!. Total weight of the statue after completion will be about 3,000 tons (made of copper and brass). I guess it will be one of the wolrd's biggest statues...

Wow. Big things going on in Bali.Good documentation of the ongoing project. Thats going to be a giant statue. Good job. :thumbup: :thumbup:
