If I would buy a new Canon Pixma Pro printer how long does it take to get the rebate? Thanks, Dave

I am probably the only person you will ever encounter who, in several decades, has applied for rebates on numerous major brand cameras, lenses, flashes and other accessories, and has NEVER deceived a single one. And, no, I do not move around a lot. On a couple of occasions, I sent in the wrong paperwork, but, on realizing my error (usually via a semi-courteous letter from the party offering the rebate) and having forwarded the proper paperwork, I get no response. I have not lost a great deal of money from these failures, the maximum being about $100 on a Nikon or Canon body, and the total probably being considerably less than $500 (over several decades). But I trust mail-in rebate offers about as much as I trust politicians. For that rea on, I will NEVER buy a product based on a rebate. If it's a good product without the rebate, I might buy it and engage in the futility of submitting the rebate application, with no expectation of receiving anything in return. I have received accessories applied for as a result of a mail-in offer (a Leica bottom plate and grip being a notable example) and I have received coupons, but never a check, money order, gift card or prepaid credit card. And my last printer, purchased when I moved to my present address in 2012, well I'm still waiting for the $50 rebate and coupon for free ink cartridges.

I'm sure nobody else has has this problem, so I'll just wish everyone good luck with their rebates.

Yep, I don't do mail-in rebates. It's a marketing trick, used by companies, to bet 'against', you the customer.

Well, if you read the fine print you do get the dough. Just do not hold your breath too long because if you are cold only your kids will get it.

What one needs to know first is when the promotion ends as it is only then that the mail-in process starts (the company place $$$ aside at that moment ~ and hires a third party processing company to do it). Then you need to know how long you have to send the mail-in from the date of purchase. Add the receipt and other proof of purchase (bar code) and you are, well, screwed.

Why? If you need a warranty replacement you need the bar code on the package otherwise you will still get a warranty repair but not a replacement. If you push for it you get a heavy penalty 30% to 50% refurbishing fee.

The result is that due to customer complaints within the store selling the stuff, many are processing the mail-in at the cash register when not a big ticket item or electronics... Then of course you are on your own.

Mogul is right 'deceived' or deception is part of the game every which way you look at it.

Did I get my rebates? Yes, all (I think).

Did I get screwed over? Nope. HP tried thought. A friend sent a threatening letter on a lawyer letter head (he is one) and that was solved but not everyone has a buddy lawyer who will do that for free. - It was an early deskjet printer -.

I've never had a problem with Canon rebates. As long as you follow the directions about what you send them, the rebates should arrive within 10 weeks. The earlier in the rebate time period the quicker you will get the check. Good luck.

I'm not sure exactly, but I bought the Pro-100 from B&H over a year ago and the gift card arrived about a month later.

Barely a month. Since 2001, I've gotten over $9,000 in rebates.

Yesterday, I got a $50 rebate for snow tires.

Canon, or any other company, is betting that 'you' the customer, doesn't send in the proper forms, filled out properly, in the specified time period. It's a sales tactic, or else they wouldn't be doing it.

What better way, to get ya to buy $5000 a gallon ink?

It didn't take too long as rebates go, a month at the most. It came as an American Express Card. We bought the Canon Pro 10 printer last month. The deal on the 100 looks pretty good.

I bought the Canon Pro 100 a year ago. I received the rebate in a credit card form promptly so prompt that I don't remember the exact time. These rebates are not scam they're proven devices to get printers to market and inot people's hands AND to sell ink.

The printer is great by the way.

I also bought the Canon Pixma Pro 100 and my rebate came in less than 4 weeks - spent it in less than 1 week.

No-one said they are scams. They are perfectly legit, if you jump through their hoops. They're just hedging, that the general populace will not send the documents in, on time. If it wasn't, they'd just sell the item for the 'rebate' price.

I was told by Canon that I would receive my rebate in 2 - 3 months. I received it in 3 weeks. That was two years ago, may be different now.

I received my rebate in 5 weeks. I wouldn't have purchased the printer if not for the rebate.
