Should have gotten up at 5.
I could not pull mars in from the morning glow.
Here is the Moon and Venus at least somewhat pleasing.
(Pouty face on.)

Nicely done Jim. The Moon is superb and Venus is nice and round.
No pouty face needed for this shot. :D

I have posted an image from StarryNight showing the positions of the moon and 3 planets at 5AM. Mars is above your field of view, but if you have any other shots with a wider field of view, perhaps it would be visible.

I have been looking at them every morning when I open the garage door before leaving for work about 6AM and they are all quite visible.

Good job of getting Venus and not totally saturating the moon. This would actually be a good place to use a graduated neutral density filter to dim that moon and to allow both to be shot optimally without saturation.

And I see I forgot to give the magnitude of Venus. It is -4.31. And the moon is -10.58!

Well, we'll let you get up earlier tomorrow then.

I didn't go to sleep till 2:30 - 3:00.
But sure as the Sun shines I was awake around first light.

But nice capture Jim.
We're coming along on the new moon. Prepare to shoot for the Stars!

I didn't get to sleep until the same time and was then back up at 5:30.. I stayed up and shot the UNM football game and burned up all of my lunch trying to stay warm. 46 degrees at game time but the wind was blowing at 20 gusting to 34. Froze my chingas off.
I crashed at 11 last night and didn't wake up till 9.
Besides.. they have spread pretty far apart now.
