The PX13 & PX625 were mercury cells. They are no longer available. B&H has Wein cells which are glorified hearing aid batteries which work ok but have a short life. Criscam.com sells an adapter the uses a silver oxide battery and has a much longer life but also costs significantly more. Love my Luna-Pro.

Thanks Nick. I knew about the short life of the Wein cells but had never heard of the adapter. I'll look into it and pass the info along to who ever buys the meter. I just visited Criscam.com - $37 for a mercury battery adapter!

I buy Zinc Air hearing aid cells (#675) & use a simple adapter (unlike the Chris unit, it's simply a shell to hold the #675 batteries). Those batteries are very inexpensive compared to the Wein ones.

In fact, Gossen also sells an adaptor similar to the Cris, and about the same price. It may make some sense to put Gossen on the hook for compatibility. They offered this adaptor upon the Mercury batteries becoming illegal in the US. Some sources still sell the mercury PX625 (which were long life) in foreign countries but getting harder to find.

AND. this meter is one of the best OLD meters in existence. In fact $50 is a STEAL!!!!!!!!!

If you have not sold it in two weeks, I will take it and pay the PayPal Fee and the shipping. Lars.

$50.00 is definitely a steal. I paid $120.00 for a gray model & another $30.00 for the spot meter attachment. They'll have to pry it out of my cold dead fingers before I'll part with it.
