and getting up on the other side, I was so mad this morning anyway when I didn't wake up till 11:55 am, I always stay up to late, I wanted to get up early and shoot some, because it suppose to rain again, But do you think that happened
My Giant Mist Flowers have been blooming and butterflies all over it, so I rush out the door and busted my a$$ in the mud (I did Not Drop My Camera :-P), It has not dried up sense the 18" of rain we got last week, I go back in the house to change out of my mud, wet soaked blue jeans, and decided to try again :-P
after getting set up soon as I turned my camera on and it said No Freaking Card  So back to the house I went, being careful not to bust my a$$ again. it was just were I left it, in the computer after downloading some pictures.
So I go back and get all set up again, being careful not to scare off the butterflies and all the sudden I got to freaking pee
 I stepped back about 20 feet to find my a$$ on the ground again  I still didn't drop my camera :-D
after I went back in the house to pee I didn't change this time, I mean what's the use, I'll just fall again
So here is my effort for today, after I took my second shower for the day :-P
Didn't have much lighting, it was cloudy most of the time and if the sun popped out for just a few seconds they were in the shade.

If you had just peed in the shower you wouldn't have had to make the extra trip

Thank you for your short story, Johnny. Will there be Chapter 2 tomorrow? Nice shots, too. :-) :D
Your story is wonderfully written and surly put us there with you and triggered "I remember when" in all of us. "Life ain't easy son but ya gotta keep tryin'...."
I have a Story similar, "Don goz to the Zoo" ... day was picked based on weather forecast... Rain all day to day, but tomorrow 10% chance of rain late after noon... overcast... wow, great for using my new Canon SX50.
Up early packing stuff... stuff I will never use on the shoot. OK, time to go, opened the door... rain...my cat years ago would have gone to the back door to see if it was raining in the back ... he only did that twice then learned rain is rain; I didn't learn as fast. It has taken me longer in life to realize a forecast is only a forecast and not reality.. Not sure I have learned yet. I stood in the door way and gave the rain my most sad and evil stair.. but it stayed all day. Chanting the childhood "Rain Rain go away come again another day" did not work either. It was two day later when I went to the Zoo.
While all you shots of flutter-bys are beautiful, the last in the series is a firm demonstration of the "art of the crop." In that one you have eliminate the extraneous; exercising the motto beat into me by Robert, the educational director at the Tampabay Camera Club... Robert's Cropping guide... if it does not add, then it detracts.
In the last shot you did a great job of trimming what you could while keeping the story and the reality of nature. Colors/size flowers/butterfly/background... superbly balanced. Kudos Hot Texas.. Kudos.

Like your pics Johnny so I'm gonna give you a couple thumbs up, please don't trip over them
That's quite a narrative. At least your efforts were rewarded with some really good butterfly shots!
Wasn't that a Three Stooges episode, lol? At least you got some great shots for all the slapstick. Nice job.
I enjoyed the respondents' comments as much as your story, Johnny! Hope your tomorrow is better :)
Beautiful photos!
I have to admire your fortitude and can-do spirit, as well as your sure-handed grip on the camera. The butterflies serve to put a light touch on the story. Well done sir.

Thanks much dpullum and for the story, as a kid growing up, the only thing I learned was never listen to the weather man, but I did, especially with those tornado warnings, they scared the hell out of me, the eerie feeling you get before one touches down is unforgettable.
Thanks again appreciate it.!!!!
