Waiting for the Auroras to show up (they no showed) I got this doing a light pollution test. Way to much pollution here but found a new spot (Ludington State Park) but all I got was some faint Milky Way pics.

Lasted for close to a full second

Same "luck" here in NW Pa. Great clear dark sky, lots of meteors and airplanes but no green. Still had a great time enjoying a great dark sky night.

Still Bruce, that's a really nice capture.
I'm usually looking the wrong way, shooting the wrong thing, and find out what I missed by the cheers that go up after the event is over.
Maybe some light pollution filters would help?

Nice capture! ;)

Really nice capture! I like the trees and lights there in the corner also, they add even more interest to the shot.

Thanks, I'm going to try and learn some PP to fine tune the lighting.

Was this the State park in Michigan, lower peninsula by Lake Huron?

No, the photo was taken on the East shore of Hamlin Lake about two miles north of Ludington Michigan. From there I went out to the State Park on the west side of Hamlin Lake. Much darker skies and about 15 miles of gorgeous sandy beach on Lake Michigan. All lower peninsula.
Thanks for stopping by

Thanks Craig, 30 seconds leads to slight trails but it's worth the trade in brighter stars to me.
