Looking for guidance in switching to CC PS and LR

I have bee reading a lot about the recent update of LR and dissatisfaction with the new import dialog etc. This has made me consider delaying the update. I am currently on LR5.4 and do not use PS, but want to do so.

Is there a detailed description of the download and conversion process? I feel I need a step by step description.

I updated to the latest CC version yesterday. It took 10 minutes and was flawless. The Import routine is not bad, just different.

It was 6 months ago that I switched from LR5 to the CC. As I recall, I went to www.adobe.com and found the place to subscribe, payed my money and I agreed to the downloads.

I am very much enjoying learning PS!

As bspraque Dudu, I downloaded the latest CC updates and no issues; took 5 minutes. No reason to put it off. Make sure your computer is has any updates to the OS installed.
Good luck!

I switched to Photoshop CC and LR several months ago. I had no problems downloading and have had no problems using the apps. I kept my Photoshop 6 on just in case I didn't like CC. There were no conflicts between the 2 versions of Photoshop. I uninstalled 6 yesterday.
The only consideration you would have is memory and disc space. If that is good to go everything should go well.
Have fun learning. It's not as hard as people like to say.

I've been using Adobe Photography (LRCC & PSCC) for $9.99/mo since its release. Sometimes we are uncomfortable with changes as they happen in each of the upgrades every few weeks. At first I did not care for the latest LRCC, but I've adjusted and all is well.

How did you go about merging your catalogs so to have just one. Or are you starting a new catalog for the new version?
