This is a fairly high vantage point. From where was this taken?

Beautiful shot! Are you flying? How did you capture this? :)
If you look far off in the background, I live at the base of that 3rd mountain, otherwise known as Hanging Rock :) lol!

Beautiful vantage point. I see a rock in the foreground, so I would assume that there is a trail up to your vantage point.

Bob, I'll bet it was from somewhere near the parking lot just west of Pilot Mountain.

Very nice view and cool photo.

Pilot Mountain State Park. It was taken from Little Pinnacle Overlook. Elevation is about 2000 feet above surrounding terrain.

I live in Burlington, NC, have circumnavigated the peak several times after traversing the saddleback approach. It just looks different here.

Camlane,

Nice photo. Did you use a horizontal darkening gradient in Post Processing from top to bottom? Looks like you boosted the blues (saturation) a bit in the sky down into the top of the distant mountains and some showing on the rock faces of Mount Pilot?

It apparently was a nice clear day and good vantage point where you clicked your shutter.

Best Regards,
Tom

The wife and I towed my AC Cobra up last year and did the shag festival with North Tower, car show and cruise, and also ate at Soppers Restaurant downtown. A gorgeous little mtn town it was!
Very nice photo of Pilot Mtn, by the way!

No gradient used. Debate and saturation only. It was a very clear day.

The old man has many faces. In my younger days, there were wooden steps leading to the pinnacle. Now it's reserved for the birds.

Camlane,

Thanks. What is "Debate?" Sorry, but nothing is coming to mind other than you debated what PP'ing to perform, and, how much to use???

Best Regards,
Tom

The Ipad and spell correct struck again. It should be dehazed.
Sorry for the error.
