I don't usually do landscapes but I just wanted to try out my new toy. Both are handheld on a cloudy day and I used the haze removal in Photoshop Elements which seems to over-saturate. I'm just learning the new camera and software. I usually just use DPP that came with the camera and may go back to that next time. Critics welcome.

Just before sunset. Solid grey sky didn't help.

I need to go back and try this one again with a tripod. Forgot to mention that I had to remove a big fat ugly telephone wire running all the way through. Couldn't get around it.

Please post as many of these as you can, I've been waiting to see if anyone is using this camera. Was this an upgrade to what you used before? I did the download on the first one, enlarged a bit and low and behold there was a bird up in one of the trees about 1/4 from the left hand edge.

Having a hard time posting. I"ll try again but just remember these are handheld so there will be some motion blur. I traded a Canon 5D Mk III which was a great camera for this one and to my surprise the 5DS R seems to have less noise.

I'm surprised, the resolution is very disappointing.

Congrats on your new toy! I love the composition and serenity of #2.

I really like Photoshop Elements, but I know once you're used to a certain software, it's hard to change :)

It's kind of hard to see what the resolution is when hand holding for this type of photography because there is camera shake. Dynamic range on the other hand is not as good as it should be but I knew that before I got it.

I like all four of your captures a lot. The composition is good and for the most part the colors are fine. Very well done!

Just for fun I was sitting in my car and a bug landed on the mirror so I grabbed the camera and took a shot. Settings were f/6.3, 1/40 sec, iso200, 105mm

This is the same image from the one below just cropped and I added one click on contrast, two clicks on color and six clicks on sharpening Oh, that's not a broke mirror it's a spider web stuck to it.

This shot is what the camera captured witha 24-105mm lens. All I did is bring it into DPP and turn it into a jpeg
