I currently have an LG G2 phone that takes very good low light pictures. What point and shoot camera (not costing an arm and leg) would give me the same results?

What's your idea of "an arm and leg"?

Exactly...good low light point & shoot cameras will start around $500.00 and up.

Look at Nikon S9900. I bought one last week to take on a cruise instead of my heavy dslr and lens and all the stuff that goes with it. Just so much less to look after.

That's pretty much an oxymoron. Even the best P&S is poor in low light compared to any DSLR

Panasonic Lx-7 has a Leica f1.4 lens on it. Should be able to find one in the $350 range if not less.

I use one as my work camera for taking interior photos of hospitals where I can't use a flash.

I second the Panasonic Lumix LX-7 with Leica lens which i have and love. Had the prior models also LX-3 and LX-5 and both of those were great cameras as well.

I have the Sony RX100 m IV, and it does GREAT in low light! It was an arm and a leg - but it was worth every penny !!!

The key is ISO range. I set my DSLR on auto ISO when indoors or low light without flash. Figured that out after seeing that my daughter's cell phone took better pics in a museum than I was getting with my D7000. Also you might find a P&S that can shoot in RAW so you can adjust for noise in post processing.

I had a friend, just last week, rave about his Olympus TG4 with an f2 lens. About $400.

My Sony RX100 is super in low light-earlier versions may be less costly

Yep, I'll second (and third) the Panasonic LX7.
If you do have problems with an image get rid of noise with Noiseware, which is excellent free software for curing low light horrors. Download it here:

My wife has the LX7 and loves it. I got the Sony because of the slightly larger sensor -the difference is visible (but not huge) at high ISO
