Aurora over Reykjavik

I was fortunate to have been part of the Sky&Telescope Iceland trip a few weeks ago. Also fortunate to get a break in the clouds on the evening of 19 October. The Lutheran Church in the second image is a genuine Icelandic church...I "nudged" it about 85 kilometers to see how it might look in this composition. I'm developing a 64 degree north latitude attitude!

Breathtaking images! I think this is the first time I've seen aurora photos that included clouds lit by city lights.

Thank you to all who responded. If you are a night sky freak, you should add someplace at least 60 degrees north to your bucket list and experience the Northern Lights in person. Pack a tripod and a fast wide angle lens and aim North. When you see stars, start shooting, you'll see Aurora.
