So I was looking at our photo contests and realized we haven't had one in awhile and I just wondered if anyone was interested in participating if I got one going?

I was thinking maybe a Wildlife theme for one where it could be any wildlife, but no shots taken at the zoo, and could be taken in the last year (I just thought these stipulations would make it more fair). What do you all think? I am interested in ideas, opinions, and whether or not you all would like to get some contests started here again.

If you yourself would like to open a contest please feel free to do so I think it would be great to have more of them going.

What really no one wants to try and continue photo contests around here? I am surprised seeing as how there have been pictures added to the contests that are supposedly over with. I thought some here would want a new contest to take place.

That is great, but let me go in an open an official contest first. You won't post them in this thread you will post them in the contest forum. I just want to know what some people think right now before I try to open a contest and not have anyone participate.

I'd be on board with a wildlife contest.
Birds, mammals, reptiles, fish, insects, all OK as long as they were wild creatures, living and photographed in the wild.
I'd like to see the images limited to basic, minimal post processing only however. No HDR, composites, severe filter effects, or other heavily processed images. Those could be a seperate contest.
Keep it a photo contest and not a photo illustration contest and I'm interested.
I would also like to make the capture date on images fairly recent. I would like to see what people have been doing lately as opposed to digging through the archives and pulling out a photo from ten years ago.
And also keep it light and fun as best as possible.

Those are my thoughts anyway.

I am on board with you because this is exactly what I had in mind. If I get a few more people interested I will definitely open a contest.

I would second this idea as well. A real contest of taking a photo, not post processing a photo or using special effects. :)
