My P-900 came today. I got out under my porch in the rain and tried it out, so far I am very impressed.

Congratulations Mike! You are going to have a lot of fun with it. I bought Alexander S. White's book "Photographer's Guide to the Nikon Coolpix P900" and it made learning the menus and controls much easier. When I ordered it (Amazon) I was notified since I was getting a hardcopy I could download the e-book version at no additional cost. Between the two (identical content) formats I am getting good with it.
I sit by our pond and spy on the turtles and frogs and dragonflies. The local waterfowl population has signed release forms and pose on a regular schedule.

Enjoy your new camera Mike. I've had my P900 about two months now and really like it. I don't have the book mentioned but I think I may get it as well.
