Chinese Dinner Theater Costumes

These were captured during a shore excursion visit on a cruise from Bejing to Hong Kong. One evening we were taken to a small dinner theater to see this musical production. The costumes were elaborate and colorful and the music most interesting. I did some PP on these photos for sharpening and haze primarily but tried to keep the costume colors original without any further hue or saturation.

What equipment and settings? When my husband and I went to China in 2007, I had an Olympus Evolt E-330. We went to one of these shows. There was no announcement before the performance about taking pictures or recording the performance like in the U.S. I guess they don't have an actors' union in China. LOL

I really dont remember the model number Collie Lover, other than it was a Canon P & S with a good zoom and performed well in low light. These were all shot less than twenty feet from the stage with no flash while seated at long dining tables with others. They encouraged us to take photos, just no flash. I think the entire troupe invited the free advertising so they might pick up a tour invitation to the U.S. The show really was excellent. Thanks for looking.

Very nice remembrances of a good time. It seems the white balance is somewhat off in a number of them.

Thanks Bob. I'm sure you are right on the white balance. I'm still learning PP experimenting with different programs.

Jim, if you'd like, I'll take one of the images and see what I can do with it and post it back here.

I'd prefer to do that with your permission.
