problem with color checker

I purchased a x-rite color checker and just can't get the thing to set up a profile.
I have watched the videos, read the instruction and nothing.
Has anyone else had this problem.
I think the idea is great, but if it doesn't do the job forget it.

I just bought Colorchecker Passport, and the application CD savaged my computer (Dell workstation running Vista). After repairing the damage and doing full scans for virus/spyware/malware, I tried the Colorchecker CD again; same thing all over!
Xrite wasn't interested.

I had no problem with the software. My problem was that I didn't shoot the checker FLAT it was leaning a bit and the program could see it.
X rite must have the worst customer service. I was on hold for almost an hour before I was able to talk to anyone.
Bottom line is I believe I have the problem solved and I look forward to using the checker.
