thanks

I don't own one, but I have test driven a 2015 GTI which was extremely impressive. Not only it it very quick and a very good handling car, it is also well built, comfortable, roomy and gets much better fuel economy than my Sebring Hardtop Convertible. My son also likes it, so at some point, we may both bite the bullet.

Where did you get the fuel economy figures from? VW?

Make sure it passes the EPA standard and not one that they've been doctoring up. Big recall going on now.

There are many independent reviews one can evaluate. But, even if they are all wrong, the car's fuel economy will still be better than my Sebring.

If you are going to go for one of them Fern cars you may as well get one with the dual clutch and paddle shifter so you have some fun before it breaks down and you can't afford to get it fixed ! :XD:

Hurry up and buy one while they're still in business.

I drove the GTI and it's fantastic. May be a little too much cash at this time since my wife insists on the SE with sunroof and automatic.

thanks

You make a good point - I am concerned about repair costs.

Yep, that's a good idea, send some of that money out of the country. We have too much of it over here, we are all rolling in it.

Camry , 28-30 in town, 38-39 on highway repairs? it's a Toyota that's talk plenty

Just sold my 1994 Camry with 397.000 miles this car cost me 300$ on 6 years ( pieces that broke , distributor coil )

A couple years ago I was hot for the Golf TDI diesel Wagon. I loved the specs, I loved the fuel savings... then we test drove one. Neither my wife nor I could hear ourselves think much less hold a conversation in one!! Not even in town at lower speeds forget above 50mph on the freeway!! Noisiest car I test drove in years! Better go drive one & see if they have improved any because we ended the drive after 5 minutes & laughed at the poor sales guy trying to sell it to us. Even the gas engine was not acceptable.

We finally bought a 2014 Mazda 3 Grand Touring sedan & are extremely happy! we are averaging 34mpg long term mostly city driving & regularly get 43-45 on the freeway. our High tank is 52.8 mpg!! The quality of the luxury interior & accessories is outstanding..first year no warranty issues. Go test drive one!
