OP was looking at 10mm start = 16mm. 18x1.6= 28.8mm, 8.8 is big difference I have found. Want to gift me the Sig no argument. I will find a hole.

I was referring to the suggestion on the Sigma 18-35.
OP asked for Birthday parties and Landscapes. In doors I use flash. Just saying.

If you are shooting people indoors you need at least f2.8. I do not recommend shooting people anywhere with 10mm ! The Sigma 18-35 1.8 will work great !
Page 4 amphoto1 did a very in depth of glass this was included.
The 8-16 Sig was the first UWA that caught my eye when I returned to Photography. I have never shot with it but would love to.

For the indoor shots I would want to use it hand held, not on a tripod. Also I usually don't shoot Video.

I don't know how much you want to spend, but since both your current bodies are APS-C sized sensors you may want to consider the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 Art Series. It is a great lens. You can pick it up for around $700-$750.

I have and love that lens. However it is sometimes a little long indoors. I got the 10-18 shortly after it came out and have enjoyed it. However, the Sigma 10-20 was around $650 at the time. It is now around $450. The 3.5, sturdy build and the extra 2mm (thought mostly the 3.5) would have moved me to the Sigma had the price been there at the time.

I need help in deciding which wide angle lens to purchase. I have a Canon 60 D and a 7D mark II camera. I want the lends for landscapes and indoor family photos as birthday parities. I am looking at Canon EFS 10-22 mm F3.5-4.5, Canon EFS 10-18 MM 4.5-5.6, Tamron 10-24 MM F3.5-4.5 and the Sigma 10-20 MM F3.5 lenses. They are very close in price from $299 to $599. My problem is that these lenses have been around for a long time, except for the Canon 10-18 MM but I dont know if it would be good for indoors photos without a flash.
Thanks for any Help

I've owned a Canon 10-22mm for many years. Lens has served me quite well. No exceptions. Extremely sharp. Used it indoors without flash. No problem. Just jack-up your ISO. Love this lens. Excellent for the multi-purposes it serves.

Here are some shots with the 10-18 STM.
Canon 7D and these are the JPEG Small setting I also shot the RAW at the same time but this should give an idea what this can do for fun shots.
Good sharp lens.

How is the Canon 10-18 MM lens for indoors use? If it was only for landscapes I would get it. Does anyone use it indoors in low light? what makes it so hard is all these lenses seem to be great lenses.

For sure : I have read many write ups on the sig 18-35 mm and there all good . As some said that it test out better than nikon and canon primes
In that range . And that the sig takes the place of four primes that cost a total of $4000. If you buy all four . So your better of getting that one sig lens
For $700 something . And it's a better lens to boot . And for what it's worth Thom Hogan bought a sig 10-20 mm and put it on a D7100 and put his nikon
11-16 mm away in a cupboard . So I bought the sig 10-20mm wide and that was about three ago or four years . And have never regretted it . I still have to pick up a sigma 18-35 mm but I'm thinking ,a 18-70 mm f1.8 will be made one day , that's as good as the 18-35 sigma
