Ring around the moon

Saw this moon bow the other night so tried to get a few pictures of it.

Probably from moisture that the moon, or basically the sun is reflecting off of.Its cloudy....so there is a lot of moisture present.

This is the correct answer. High thin cirrus ice crystals refract light more than clouds will.
This is how it looked at 5,000 feet.

If there are stars within the ring, the number of stars tell how many days off the next storm is ;)
