"Natural Cropping" - one letter makes a big difference

Today I attended an honors conference at the Missouri Capitol with my niece. There are inspirational inscriptions in the marble all around the rotunda and halls. The stair banisters blocked a single 'y' in the first word and made me do that laugh where you try not to laugh and your eyes start to water. First word was actually 'party,' but from my viewpoint, here is what I saw:

"Part Honesty is Party Expediency"
