What kind of speedlight is it? if that is a Cannon I'm pretty sure the TTL information won't work. I could be wrong though.

Wireless will do the trick but it will not be TTL capable. Any flash can be used with wirelss triggers only dedicated Nikon flash systems (Nikon or other brand) will work on Nikon camera bodies for TTL, if the flash supports TTL. So the questyion to you is how much do you do off camera flash but forst, do you have a ny wireless trigers? If not then you need to buy some or just sell the flash and buy something else that will work with the Nikon with the money you got from the sale.

I'm getting the flash from my grandpa and he wanted to know if I wanted it. And I do not have a trigger for it. How much are triggers?

You can get cheap ones from e-bay for around the $30-$50 mark I believe. The best for the money are the Pocket Wizards but these are over $100 each. Of the cheap one there are some good and some not quite so good, so do some homework before purchasing.
